My name is Ramona Bowman and I'd like to thank you for stopping by and visiting Rise & Shine by Design. I'm a one-woman team who has always loved design and composition, whether it involves my life-long love of photography, laying something out on a page or my more recent interest of creating websites. Long before I started building sites of my own, I was bothered by websites that take you here, there and everywhere and before you know it you're lost. All you want to do is find a way back to the home page. So you get frustrated and just shut it down. Of course you could sit there and hit the back arrow repeatedly, but how ridiculous is that? I'm sure you've experienced the same. Some of these sites are professionally built, very attractive sites, but they just lack decent navigation. So I'm irritated by this, but what do you do??... Then several years ago the company I work for, Western Equipment Distributors, put me in charge of trying to do something with the poor excuse of a website they had at the time. Not knowing what the heck I was doing, I enrolled in an online HTML class. This was the kick start. I was hooked! I took over the Western Equipment site, which I still manage today. This particular site doesn't require a whole lot of HTML knowledge, but having that background and understanding is immensly helpful, allowing me to make changes to the site I wouldn't otherwise be able to make.
		Onward... Wanting to build a site from the ground up, I convinced a cousin of mine to let me design and build her website, which I did completely with HTML. Now HTML isn't a whole lot of fun, but I was amazed at what you could create by typing a bunch of code on a page. After a bit of research I purchased the Dreamweaver software package, took another series of classes and began my search for clients, convincing more family & friends to let me have a crack at it. Thankfully they believed in me! Today I absolutely love combining my web building skills and creativity to design sites that are attractive, easy to navigate and frustration free. I also love the marketing aspect, helping clients to put together brochures, eNewsletters, etc. My rates are very reasonable.
